WHO WE ARE

When we talk about “SISM” “us” or “we” in this policy, we are talking about The Sports Injury & Sports Medicine Clinic. SISM fully respects your right to privacy and we are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Please read the following to learn more about how we collect, use, process, and disclose your information, including personal information and how we keep it secure. For the purpose of the EU General Data Protection Regulation + 353 94 9020005 and the Data Protection Act 2018 (the “Act”), the data controller is SISM whose registered office is N5 Business Park, Moneen, Castlebar, Co. Mayo

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) covers our treatment of your personal information that we gather when you are using or services or when you contact us in any manner. We gather various types of information, including information that identifies you as an individual (“Personal Information”) as explained in more detail below.


WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT? We receive and store information that you provide directly to us. For example, we collect Personal Information, such as name, age, contact details including email, postal address and telephone numbers, financial information, and tax numbers (and of course you may choose to share other relevant information with us). Any information which you provide to us is not made available to any third parties without your permission and is used by SISM only in line with the purpose for which you provided it and in accordance with the Act.


HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION? The information you provide to us is used by us to: (a) provide you with professional advice; (b) send you information that you have requested and that may be of interest to you. These include details about our services; (c) notify you of changes to our services; (d) seek your views or comments on our services or policies; (e) carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us; (f) improve our services that we may provide to you; (g) answer your enquiry; (h) provide other services related to or supplementary to the above; market our services directly to you to your professional or business email address; (i) where appropriate and in accordance with applicable laws and requirements, we may also use your personal data for marketing activities. Where appropriate, we will seek your consent to undertake some of these activities.We may also use the information you send to us, to communicate with you via email and, possibly, other means, regarding events we think may be of interest to you or to send you our newsletter, if this is in accordance with your marketing preferences. We always include an unsubscribe button in our communications, so you can opt out of receiving such communications at any time.


HOW DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA? We do not share your personal information to anyone except as set out herein. We consider your data to be private and confidential. We may sometimes disclose your data: (a) to agents or service providers appointed by us, or to others who work for us in connection with the provision of our services to you; (b) to our actual or prospective professional indemnity insurers, brokers or advisers, bank and auditors or risk managers who they may appoint, or as otherwise may be required by operation of law; (c) for marketing purposes, we may wish to disclose or publish that we have advised you, in which event we may identify you by name and indicate the general nature of our advice and any details which may properly have entered the public domain. If you object to our using your name or business logo in any publication, please let us know. (d) to share information such as your name and email address with our newsletter services provider who sends out our newsletters. This provider is not permitted to use this data other than on our behalf. (e) with our practice management system provider. We may also send you emails through our email service provider. They may only process this data for the purpose of providing us with their services, and no other purpose. 


IS PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT ME SECURE? We use appropriate technical, organisational and administrative security measures to protect any information we hold in our records from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. While SISM takes all due care in ensuring the privacy and integrity of the information that you provide to us, we recognise that no data transmission over the internet can be 100% guaranteed as secure. The possibility exists that this information could be unlawfully observed by a third party while in transit over the internet. SISM accepts no liability should this occur.


HOW LONG WILL WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA FOR? We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve SISM purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements. 


INFORMATION WE AUTOMATICALLY COLLECT: When you visit our website we collect certain information related to your device, such as your device’s IP address, referring website, what pages your device visited, and the time that your device visited our website.Information collected by cookies and other similar technologies – we use various technologies to collect information which may include saving cookies to users’ computers. We also may use clear gifs in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened by recipients.
